Give Online... Many people have asked us about the possibility of giving online. While we understand this isn't for everyone, we've decided to make this available to you because it will serve many. We do not collect offerings during service, but if you would like to make a donation or contribution, you may do so by dropping it in one of our offering boxes located in the sanctuary.

Q. Why don't you collect offerings during service?

The scripture says, “Each one should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under pressure,
for God loves a cheerful giver!” (2 Cor. 9:7)

We have decided that we do not want people to feel an obligation to give money to Lighthouse Community Church.
We would rather that people give from their hearts according to the Lord’s prompting.

Q. Where does the money received during offerings go?

The greater part of the tithes and offerings received at Lighthouse are used to operate the many ministries which are active here. We also must take care of the church and grounds and compensate the pastors and staff. In addition, we support local ministries such as, Sheridan House, a ministry to single mothers, and we support national and international missions.

We have a Business and Finance Council here at Lighthouse who help to set up the yearly budget and give
counsel regarding finances.

Q. What if I want to give to a specific ministry?

Giving to a specific ministry or fund is easy. Simply write a check to Lighthouse Community Church and indicate
the name of the ministry or fund on the note portion of the check.

Q. What does the bible say about giving?

We must first remember that God owns everything, and that all we have comes from His hand. “The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains.” (Psalms 24:1) “And what do you have that you did not receive?” (1 Cor. 4:7)

Our giving is the outward testimony of our believing that and living out that belief. We need to be good managers or stewards of that which God has given us. The Bible has at least 2,162 verses concerning giving and/or tithing. We cannot list them all here but here are a few that teach us the benefits of or reasons to give or tithe:

I should tithe because God commands it. “A tenth of all you produce is the Lord’s, and it is holy.” (Leviticus 27:30)

Giving strengthens my faith. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” “Honor the Lord by giving him the first part of your income, and he will fill your barns to overflowing.” (Proverbs 3:5, 9)

I should tithe because tithing expresses my love to the Lord. “How can I repay the Lord for all his goodness to me?” (Psalms 116:12)

Giving draws me closer to God. “Where your treasure is, there your heart is also.” (Matthew 6:21)

I should tithe because it demonstrates that God is first in my life. “The purpose of tithing is to teach you to always put God in first place in your life.” (Deuteronomy 14:23)

Giving blesses me in return. “A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” (Proverbs 11:25)
